Farmer Finds Drone in Field Prompting Military Intervention Near Otwock

On Sunday, August 2, a farmer discovered a drone-like object during field work in Głupianka, prompting a response from local police, firefighters, and military explosive ordnance disposal specialists.

Discovery in Głupianka

On Sunday, August 2, at around 6:20 PM, the Otwock police received a report from a farmer who found an object resembling an unmanned aerial vehicle while performing field work in the village of Głupianka, located in the Kołbiel commune. Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.

After an initial assessment, officers confirmed that the discovered device resembled a drone. However, due to the specific nature of the object, the inspection revealed that the matter exceeded police jurisdiction, leading to the deployment of soldiers from the Mazovian Military Gendarmerie Department in Warsaw.

Military Secure the Device

The fire department was also dispatched to Głupianka to secure the area and provide potential support for the military operations. Following reconnaissance, it was determined that the device did not contain a combat payload.

The unmanned aerial vehicle was secured by military personnel, who will conduct further investigative procedures. A forensic expert will be appointed during the preparatory proceedings to determine the purpose of the device, identify its manufacturer and potential owner, and explain how it landed in the field in Głupianka.

Unusual UAV Design

According to available information, the discovered item is not a standard multirotor drone. Instead, it is a different type of unmanned aerial vehicle with a wingspan of approximately 500 millimeters.
