Fatal Crash in Stara Kornica: Driver Charged Following Motorcyclist’s Death

The Siedlce District Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against Paulina O., who is accused of causing a fatal collision on August 30, 2025, after failing to yield to a motorcyclist.

The Incident and Investigation

The accident occurred on the evening of August 30, 2025, in Stara Kornica. Authorities from the Łosice County Police Command arrived at the scene to find a damaged Audi A3 and a deformed Honda CBR motorcycle.

According to investigative findings, the Audi A3, driven by Paulina O., was positioned parallel to the road on a parking lot near a cemetery. The vehicle sustained damage to its front left side.

Failure to Yield Right of Way

The spokesperson for the Siedlce Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated that the defendant failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle while exiting the parking area to enter traffic. Both drivers were confirmed to be sober at the time of the collision.

The impact resulted in the immediate death of the motorcyclist, Kamil D. Expert analysis of the road traffic evidence led prosecutors to formally charge Paulina O. with causing a fatal accident.

Negligence and Legal Consequences

Prosecutors allege the defendant unintentionally violated traffic safety rules by failing to ensure the maneuver was safe. Kamil D., traveling from Stara Kornica toward Konstantynów, struck the Audi’s front fender, sustaining fatal chest injuries.

Charged under Article 177 § 2 of the Penal Code, Paulina O. has denied the allegations and refused to provide testimony. She faces a potential sentence ranging from six months to eight years in prison, with the Siedlce District Court set to preside over the case.
