Fatal Crash Near Warsaw: BMW Engine Found 100 Meters From Wreckage

A 28-year-old man died and another remains in critical condition after a BMW X3 crashed in Borzęcin Duży during the night of June 26–27, with the engine ejected into a nearby forest.

Circumstances of the Fatal Collision

The accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Spacerowa Street in Borzęcin Duży. Preliminary findings indicate the driver lost control after failing to adjust speed to road conditions and striking a curb while bypassing a traffic island on the wrong side.

The vehicle veered off the road, striking a concrete culvert, a tree, and a residential fence, while also damaging a gas utility box. The impact caused the vehicle to roll over onto its side.

Devastating Impact and Rescue Operation

The force of the crash was immense, causing the BMW’s engine to detach and land approximately 100 meters away in the woods. Emergency responders, including firefighters, three medical teams, and police, were dispatched to the scene.

A 28-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The 28-year-old driver was transported to a hospital in critical condition, and blood samples were collected to test for alcohol or other substances. A second passenger was unharmed.

Investigation and Road Closure

Traffic police conducted an investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, resulting in the road being blocked for several hours. Authorities are working to determine the precise circumstances of the incident.
