Fatal Fall During Police Intervention in Warsaw

A 32-year-old man died after falling from a seventh-floor balcony while attempting to evade police during an intervention at a residential building on Inflancka Street in Warsaw on Saturday night.

The Incident on Inflancka Street

The event occurred shortly before 10:00 PM on Inflancka Street in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district. According to reports, a 32-year-old man visited an acquaintance, but after being denied entry, he entered a neighboring apartment through an unsecured door, prompting the resident to call the police.

Junior Aspirant Jakub Pacyniak, press officer for the Warsaw Śródmieście District Police, confirmed the intervention but declined to comment on the specific course of events or circumstances, citing the ongoing investigation.

Alleged Aggression and Attempted Escape

Reports suggest the man behaved aggressively toward the neighbor before climbing onto the balcony and moving along the building’s facade to the floor below. He then reportedly entered a seventh-floor apartment, where he allegedly acted aggressively toward an elderly resident, even biting her hand.

When police arrived at the scene, the man attempted to escape by climbing over the balcony again to reach a lower level. He lost his balance and fell onto the grass below.

Medical Response and Investigation

Emergency medical services arrived, but despite being transported to the hospital in critical condition, the man died before midnight. Prosecutors and police have since secured the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.

Authorities are working to determine the man’s motives and the events leading up to the fall. Toxicology tests, security footage analysis, witness testimonies, and an autopsy will be critical to the ongoing inquiry.
