Fatal Moped-Tractor Collision in Surowe: Rider Dead, Passenger Critical

A 69-year-old moped rider died today following a collision with a farm tractor in Surowe, Ostrołęka County, while his passenger was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

Circumstances of the Fatal Collision

The accident occurred at approximately 3:55 PM in the village of Surowe. A Renault farm tractor, operated by a 46-year-old local resident, collided with a moped carrying a 69-year-old man and a female passenger. The impact was severe, resulting in the immediate death of the moped driver.

Emergency Response and Ongoing Investigation

Emergency services, including police, medical teams, four fire department units, and an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. The female passenger was stabilized and transported by helicopter to a hospital in critical condition.

According to Superintendent Tomasz Żerański of the Ostrołęka Police, the tractor driver was sober. Police and prosecutors are currently on-site securing evidence and investigating the exact causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
