Fatal Rollover Crash in Wólka Żabna: Drunk Teen Driver Kills Passenger

A 19-year-old driver under the influence of alcohol lost control of his vehicle in Wólka Żabna on Sunday morning, causing a rollover crash that resulted in the death of a passenger.

The Incident

Staszów police received a report regarding a traffic accident on regional road No. 764 in Wólka Żabna, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, shortly before 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Driver Under the Influence

Staszów County Police spokesperson Senior Aspirant Joanna Szczepaniak stated that the 19-year-old Volkswagen driver lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently veered off the road and rolled over. The impact was fatal for a 22-year-old passenger who died at the scene.

Casualties and Investigation

Four other individuals, including three aged 17–19 and the 22-year-old driver, were transported to hospitals in Staszów, Busko-Zdrój, and Kielce. Initial tests confirmed the driver had nearly one per mille of alcohol in his system. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Verification of Reports

Police addressed witness reports suggesting a sixth person may have fled the scene toward a nearby forest. After an investigation, authorities confirmed that only five people were traveling in the vehicle.
