Fatal Stunt Show Accident in Poland: Czech Driver Crushes Fellow Performer With BMW

A 61-year-old Czech stuntman died in Radzyń Podlaski on Sunday evening after being crushed by a BMW driven by a 73-year-old compatriot during a municipal marketplace stunt exhibition.

Details of the Stunt Mishap

The details of the accident were disclosed on Monday by Commissioner Piotr Mucha from the District Police Headquarters in Radzyń Podlaski. On Sunday evening, a stunt show was taking place at the municipal marketplace, where a 73-year-old BMW driver was performing a maneuver involving driving the car with its right wheels elevated.

Fatal Impact and Hospital Death

As he drove over another participant of the show, he lost control of the vehicle, causing the right wheels of the BMW to drop to the ground, crushing the 61-year-old stuntman and running over him. The injured man was taken to the hospital, where he died after a dozen or so minutes.

Longtime Czech Performers

Both men were Czech citizens who had been engaged in stunt shows for years.

Investigation Into Involuntary Manslaughter

Prosecutor Marcin Kozak, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, informed PAP that the investigation is being conducted in the direction of involuntary manslaughter. Both men are Czech citizens who had been involved in stunt performances for many years. The 73-year-old was detained for questioning and is scheduled to be interrogated on Monday, with no charges filed against anyone as of yet, the spokesperson emphasized.

Safety Review and Sobriety

Investigators will also check whether the stunt show was conducted in accordance with safety and precaution rules. Both the organizer and the detained driver were sober. The investigation into the matter is being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Radzyń Podlaski.
