Foster Care Guardian Arrested in Szczytno Following Abuse Allegations

A 56-year-old man running a family foster home in Szczytno has been remanded in custody for three months over allegations of physical abuse and sexual misconduct against minors under his care.

Investigation into Long-term Abuse

According to RMF FM, the investigation concerns two victims in their early teens, with some reported incidents dating back to the period between 2015 and 2021. Evidence in the case reportedly includes a video recording captured by one of the victims.

Removal of Children from Foster Home

The suspect and his wife had operated a family foster home in Szczytno for many years. Following the allegations, a court order issued last week mandated the removal of all nine children who were under the couple’s care.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Inquiries

The District Court in Szczytno has ordered the 56-year-old man to be held in temporary detention for three months. Prosecutors are currently determining if there are additional victims and investigating whether the man’s wife was aware of his conduct. The suspect has not yet disclosed whether he admits to the charges of mental abuse and sexual misconduct.
