Sztum County Police spokesperson Karolina Kosmowska stated that the 22-year-old BMW driver likely failed to adjust his speed to prevailing road conditions. The vehicle veered off the road and rolled over, killing four passengers instantly, including a 12-year-old resident of the Sztum district.

Driver Condition and Ongoing Investigation

The 22-year-old driver survived the crash and was transported to the hospital; his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police confirmed that the driver was sober at the time of the accident. Local authorities, under the supervision of a prosecutor, spent several hours securing the scene and interviewing witnesses. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Kwidzyn has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
