Four Killed in Skawina Apartment Tragedy

Emergency services discovered the bodies of four people, including a newborn, inside a Skawina apartment on Friday, July 3, following reports from a concerned family member who could not gain entry.

Forced Entry Reveals Multiple Casualties

On Friday, July 3, after 3:00 PM, firefighters were dispatched to an apartment on the second floor of a building in Skawina, Lesser Poland. Rescuers were forced to use hydraulic tools to breach the locked door.

Inside, authorities found the bodies of four individuals: two women, a man, and a newborn baby. The alarm had been raised by the children’s grandfather, who was unable to contact the family or enter the premises.

Police Confirm Violent Deaths

Krakow police spokeswoman Sub-inspector Katarzyna Cisło confirmed that all victims, including the infant who was just eight days old, suffered injuries inflicted by a sharp object. There is no doubt that this is a criminal case.

The victims include a married couple, their eight-day-old child, and the grandmother who was assisting with childcare. Police have indicated that an extended suicide is currently the most probable hypothesis being investigated.

Investigation and Background

Although the prosecutor’s office has yet to issue an official statement, investigators reportedly suspect the 35-year-old father carried out the killings before taking his own life. The police spokeswoman noted that there had been no domestic interventions at this residence over the past five years.
