Individuals planning a holiday trip to Greece in 2026 who intended to navigate resorts and cities on e-scooters must prepare for significant legal changes. The most important modification concerns the age criterion. The introduced ban means that teenage tourists and underage residents will not be able to legally use these types of vehicles in public spaces.

Drastic Fines and Penalties for Rule Violations

To effectively enforce the new regulations, the penalty schedule has been tightened. Financial sanctions will hit vehicle users, minors, and companies offering equipment rental or sales directly.

For example, during a family vacation in Athens, a family traveling with a 15-year-old child will not be able to legally rent an e-scooter for them.
