A major fire broke out early Sunday morning at an industrial waste facility in Mszczon贸w, prompting an extensive emergency response and environmental monitoring by chemical rescue teams from Warsaw.

Fire at the Mszczon贸w Facility
Emergency services received reports of a blaze at a waste management facility on Polna Street just before 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28. The fire damaged a 15 by 45-meter building and two adjacent trucks.
According to Junior Brigadier Jaros艂aw Belina, spokesperson for the 呕yrard贸w County State Fire Service, the fire destroyed several hundred square meters of the facility where industrial waste was stored.
Emergency Response and Environmental Monitoring
Approximately 20 fire units were deployed to the scene to combat the blaze. The Warsaw Specialized Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group was brought in to monitor air quality and hazardous substance concentrations in the vicinity.
While officials noted temporary spikes in hazardous substance levels, the situation eventually stabilized. Smoke was directed away from the town toward national road number 50, and residents were advised to keep windows closed as a precaution.
Containment and Ongoing Operations
No injuries were reported, and firefighters successfully prevented the flames from spreading to other parts of the site. Extinguishing the fire proved difficult due to high temperatures and the nature of the industrial materials.
Crews from 呕yrard贸w and specialized units from Warsaw continued the operation to fully neutralize the threat and address smoldering waste. A formal investigation into the circumstances of the fire will follow the completion of site security efforts.
