International Fugitive “Matador” Apprehended in Argentina

Polish national wanted by a Katowice court for involvement in organized crime, kidnapping, and hostage-taking was arrested in mid-June while attempting to cross from Brazil into Puerto Iguazu, Argentina.

Arrest and Extradition Proceedings

The 42-year-old suspect, known as “Matador,” was apprehended in mid-June in Puerto Iguazu, located in the Misiones province of northeastern Argentina. He was intercepted by authorities while attempting to enter the country from neighboring Brazil.

The suspect has been the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by a court in Katowice. According to reports from the portal El Territorio, the man is currently in custody awaiting extradition proceedings to Poland.

Allegations and Criminal Connections

Argentine media reports indicate the man faces charges related to membership in an organized criminal group, kidnapping, and the illegal detention of hostages. Sources further link the suspect to the abduction and murder of 34-year-old Marek Kubaczka.

Reports state that in September 2025, masked perpetrators abducted Kubaczka, transported him to an abandoned building in Klobuck, and beat him to death using tasers and clubs. The perpetrators reportedly set fire to the building to destroy evidence and concealed the victim’s body in the grave of an elderly woman in Zytno.

History of Legal Testimony

Local media previously identified the suspect as a defense witness in the 2016 trial concerning the murder of 19-year-old GKS Katowice footballer Dominik Koszowski. The victim died during a street brawl involving soccer hooligans.

During the court proceedings, the suspect denied any affiliation with pseudofans, claiming that he earned his living as a tattoo artist.
