Police Intervention on 艢niardwy Street
A dangerous situation unfolded in a residential area on 艢niardwy Street in Warsaw’s Mokot贸w district. On Monday, August 10, police officers intervened following reports from residents about an aggressive man who was destroying parked motorcycles and subsequently grabbed a meat cleaver.
Destruction of Two-Wheelers
According to eyewitness accounts, the man first pushed over two parked motorcycles. He did not stop there, however; at a certain point, he picked up a meat cleaver he had laid aside and began striking one of the two-wheelers, which reportedly belonged to a food delivery worker.
Detention of the Intoxicated Suspect
The man’s behavior alarmed residents, who alerted the emergency services. A police patrol was dispatched to the scene, quickly bringing the situation under control and detaining the aggressive 39-year-old. Thanks to the efficient intervention, a tragedy was averted and no one was injured.
Alcohol Consumption and Suspect’s Motive
It was later revealed that the detainee was intoxicated, with a breathalyzer test showing nearly 1.5 per mill of alcohol in his system. According to accounts from the scene, the man explained his behavior by complaining about the noise caused by motorcycles, stating that he destroyed them because they were “riding too loudly.”
Property Damage Charges and Release
As a result of the incident, three motorcycles were damaged. After sobering up and the completion of necessary procedures, the 39-year-old Polish citizen was charged with property damage and released to go home. Although the situation appeared very threatening, fortunately, no one sustained injuries during the intervention or earlier when the man wielded the cleaver, and the case will now proceed according to standard legal procedures.
