Intoxicated Man Successfully Purchases Vodka Immediately After Being Awakened by Authorities

Municipal guards in Warsaw were shocked to witness a man they had just awakened from a deep alcohol-induced stupor at the West Railway Station proceed directly to purchase more vodka.

Unresponsive on the Station Floor

On June 10, municipal guards from the Third Territorial Unit were dispatched to the Warsaw West railway station following a report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in a deep state of intoxication sleeping on the floor. Despite the guards’ efforts, he remained unresponsive until emergency medical services arrived and successfully managed to wake him.

A Rapid Return to Alcohol

Once medically cleared by the paramedics, the man stood up and claimed he was fit to return home. However, instead of leaving the area, he walked directly to a nearby liquor store. The guards watched in disbelief as the store clerk sold him a bottle of vodka despite his obvious intoxicated state.

Consequences for the Retailer

The officers immediately intervened, notifying the clerk that selling alcohol to an intoxicated person is a serious legal violation. While the clerk claimed the sale was a result of an oversight, the police were summoned to the scene to determine the appropriate legal consequences for both the employee and the establishment.
