The agreement was signed following four days of intensive negotiations mediated by the United States. While the document establishes a formal framework for future peace, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that significant work remains to be done.

Proposed Implementation

According to Axios, the document outlines specific actions the parties must undertake. This includes two pilot projects involving the withdrawal of the Israeli military from currently occupied small areas in southern Lebanon, to be replaced by the Lebanese army.
