Kaczyński Slams Morawiecki’s New Parliamentary Club Following PiS Split

Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced a new parliamentary club on Wednesday, prompting sharp criticism from PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński over an internal party split.

Morawiecki Announces New Parliamentary Club

On Wednesday, July 29, Mateusz Morawiecki announced the creation of a new parliamentary club. The former prime minister stated that 40 MPs and a senator decided to establish the club, which will serve as an action forum for the “Rozwój Plus” association.

Kaczyński Reacts to the Split

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński commented on Morawiecki’s decision, stating that what was to be foreseen has happened. He added that he made efforts to reach an agreement until the end, but Morawiecki clearly had his own political plan based on a PiS split, which occurred at the most inappropriate moment for Poland and served those harming the homeland.

Party Games vs. Expert Activities

During a press conference, Morawiecki stated that completely unnecessary and strange party games took place within PiS. According to the former prime minister, real splitters want to focus on party life and themselves.

Morawiecki added that they do not want to get involved in these party squabbles, noting that within the Rozwój Plus association they conduct many expert, developmental, and think-tank activities, and will now have a political platform for action.

Disciplinary Proceedings and Party Membership

PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek informed on Tuesday that the PiS Political Committee approved the list of individuals who failed to submit the proper statement regarding non-membership in associations within the required deadline. He stated this involves 44 people, including those connected to Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus association and those who used the wrong form.

Bochenek reported that after the committee’s approval, the matter was forwarded to the party’s discipline spokesperson according to the party statute, to handle each case individually and complete formal and legal procedures. Contrary to earlier announcements by PiS leadership, the formal expiration of these individuals’ party membership was thus not confirmed.

Kaczyński Stresses Unity and Action

Jarosław Kaczyński concluded his wpis by stating that as Law and Justice they are not stopping: they have a strategy, a program, and look to the future. He stated that Tusk’s fatal government must be removed from power, only a united patriotic camp has a chance for real success, and a patriot must be one in deeds, not words.
