Kremlin Threats Against Poland Draw International Solidarity

Following Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov’s warning that Warsaw should reconsider its security, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani condemned the rhetoric as a provocation and reaffirmed full support for Poland.

Kremlin’s Warning Over Drone Production

Dmitry Peskov stated on Sunday that Warsaw should “carefully consider its security” due to the presence of numerous drone manufacturing companies in Poland. He alleged these firms produce equipment used to attack Russian soldiers.

The Kremlin spokesperson further claimed that the specific addresses of these Polish facilities have already been published by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

International Rebuttal to Provocation

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani dismissed the Russian threats against NATO and Poland as calculated provocations intended to intimidate. He emphasized that these efforts have failed to instill fear.

Tajani affirmed that Poland maintains the full support, friendship, and solidarity of its allies, a sentiment he intended to reiterate at the European Group of Five (E5) meeting in Ankara.

Security Concerns and Intelligence Reports

Reporting on potential Russian aggression, The Guardian suggests the Kremlin is planning provocations to test the U.S. commitment to European security, potentially targeting the Baltic states or Poland.

Citing intelligence sources, the British daily reported that Western officials are monitoring concerns that Vladimir Putin may initiate aggressive actions if he feels pressured by the escalation of hostilities reaching Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
