Major Warehouse Fire Erupts in Mszana Dolna

Over 60 firefighters are battling a massive warehouse blaze in Mszana Dolna, as authorities issue urgent warnings for residents to stay indoors and keep windows closed due to toxic smoke.

Emergency response and site status

The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at a warehouse located on Orkana Street in Mszana Dolna, Limanowa County. Capt. Hubert Ciepły from the Krakow Provincial Fire Headquarters confirmed that a significant force has been deployed to combat the blaze, which involves a building measuring approximately 40 by 20 meters.

Currently, 18 firefighting vehicles and over 60 personnel are on the scene. A specialized chemical response unit from Krakow has also been dispatched to monitor air quality as the firefighting operation continues.

Casualties and public safety measures

One person has been reported injured and received medical attention, though their condition is not considered serious. Officials have warned that the fire is still active and developing, with traffic disruptions expected in the surrounding area.

In the immediate vicinity of the warehouse, there is a vehicle diagnostic station and a carpentry workshop. Authorities have reiterated calls for residents to avoid the area and refrain from opening windows to prevent the inhalation of hazardous smoke, which is visible from several kilometers away.
