Man Charged with Assault on Police Officer After Attempted Vehicle Ramming

A 46-year-old resident of Załuski has been charged with active assault on a public official after allegedly attempting to hit a police officer with a quad bike during a Friday intervention.

The Incident in Załuski

On Friday, June 12, officers from the Płońsk County Police Department, supported by local units, were executing a prosecutor’s order regarding procedural actions against a 46-year-old man in the municipality of Załuski.

Upon approaching the suspect, who was seated on a quad bike, officers identified themselves. The man ignored their commands to stop, started the vehicle, and attempted to flee the scene.

Attempted Assault and Arrest

When police blocked his path, the suspect turned the quad bike and accelerated directly toward one of the officers. The officer narrowly avoided being hit by jumping out of the way at the last moment.

The suspect fled to his property, abandoned the vehicle, and attempted to hide in an attic behind a chimney. He was apprehended by police, despite displaying aggressive behavior.

Legal Consequences and Investigation

During a search of the property, officers discovered specialized lock-opening tools, the origin of which the suspect claimed to be unaware. He was detained and subsequently brought before the Płońsk District Prosecutor’s Office.

The man has been charged with active assault on a public official with the intent to obstruct duty. He is subject to police supervision and must report his travel plans, while facing a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
