How Military Asset Disposal Works

The Agency of Military Property is responsible for the disposal of equipment retired by the Polish Armed Forces and state services. This encompasses vehicles, spare parts, technical equipment, specialized weaponry, and infrastructure components.

Assets are categorized into licensed and non-licensed goods. Weapons, ammunition, and combat vehicles are restricted to authorized entities, while the general public may bid on decommissioned vehicles, tools, generators, uniforms, and workshop equipment through formal tenders.

Trucks, Jeeps, and Collector Vehicles

Military vehicles are the most sought-after items in public auctions. The catalog frequently features models such as the UAZ-469, Star 266, ZiŁ-131, and Tatra-815. Depending on technical condition, these can range from tens to hundreds of thousands of zloty.

The Star 266 remains the most popular Polish military truck, with restored models often fetching over 100,000 PLN. Specialized variants like mobile workshops and radio stations are often more valuable to buyers than the base vehicles themselves.

Restricted Weaponry and Combat Gear

The sale of armaments is strictly regulated, with most weapons reserved for licensed buyers. The agency’s inventory includes pistols like the P-64 and TT wz. 33, as well as AKM carbines and Dragunov sniper rifles.

While rarely sold to private individuals, these items represent a significant portion of the agency’s throughput. Collectors value the Dragunov SVD at over 50,000 PLN, while machine guns remain virtually inaccessible to the general market due to legal restrictions.

Armored Vehicles and Heavy Artillery

High-value assets like T-72 tanks, BWP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, and BRDM scout cars draw significant attention. Prices for a T-72 can range from 300,000 PLN to over 1.5 million PLN, depending on demilitarization status.

Rarer specialized engineering vehicles, such as the WZT-2 recovery vehicle or BLG-67MP bridge layer, can exceed one million zloty. Real-world pricing is contingent on the specific condition of each unit and the terms of the sale.

Specialized Optics and Naval Assets

The catalog also contains optical equipment, including periscopes and artillery binoculars like the NSPU or PNW-57. These items are highly popular among reenactment groups and collectors, typically ranging from several hundred to 10,000 PLN.

The agency has even listed a Kobben-class submarine. While such a purchase involves immense logistical and legal hurdles, the presence of the vessel in the inventory illustrates the vast scale of state-owned military assets processed by the agency.
