Morawiecki Announces New Political Party Following PiS Membership Suspension

Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced he will launch a new political party by October 15 at the latest, after PiS leadership effectively terminated the membership of politicians who formed a separate parliamentary club.

PiS Leadership Deems Dissident Membership Dead

Appearing on the YouTube channel “Rymanowski Live,” Mateusz Morawiecki addressed remarks made on Monday by PiS party discipline spokesperson Karol Karski. Karski stated that the membership of 40 individuals who formed a new parliamentary club is currently “dead,” adding that their cases will be reviewed individually and their status within Law and Justice cannot be maintained.

Morawiecki Confirms Leadership Push-Out and October Party Launch

According to Morawiecki, Karski’s statement indicates that the PiS leadership aimed to push them out from the very beginning. The former prime minister announced that now that their membership is completely terminated, they will officially establish a new party no later than October 15.

Association Convention Planned for Parliamentary Election Anniversary

Morawiecki first announced the association’s convention planned for October 15, marking the anniversary of the 2023 parliamentary elections, in a Sunday social media post. He wrote that the event will demonstrate that Poland is not doomed to chaos and mediocrity, showcasing a force with the experience, courage, program, and readiness to take responsibility for the country again. Politicians associated with “Rozwojem Plus” have already established a separate parliamentary club.
