Shifts in Patient Copayments
The Ministry of Health has announced that copayments for 282 drug items will decrease, while 449 preparations will see price hikes. The most significant individual saving reaches 303.53 PLN, whereas the highest price increase exceeds 42 PLN. These adjustments, published on June 17, 2026, impact treatments for osteoporosis, infertility, schizophrenia, and allergen immunotherapy.
Significant Savings for Osteoporosis and Infertility Treatments
Patients treating postmenopausal osteoporosis are the primary beneficiaries, with the cost of Prolia falling by over 300 PLN. Similarly, those undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for infertility will see clear price drops for medications such as Rekovelle, Gonal-f, and Menopur, leading to substantial savings across several treatment cycles.
Psychiatric Medication Price Adjustments
Psychiatric care also sees changes, with a copayment reduction of 11.28 PLN for Zolafren 10 mg. Furthermore, Bupropion Neuraxpharm is now included in the reimbursement list for adult depression. Patients will pay 27.83 PLN for the 150 mg dosage and 42.21 PLN for the 300 mg dosage.
Increased Costs for Immunotherapy and Anticoagulants
Patients utilizing immunotherapy preparations like Oralair and Staloral will face the largest price increases, with copayments rising by 42.07 PLN per package. Costs for the anticoagulant Runaplax are also climbing, with the 20 mg variant increasing by 30.39 PLN and the 15 mg dose by 22.12 PLN.
Expansion and Reduction of the Reimbursement List
The update introduces 170 new entries, including 25 new therapies—10 oncological and 15 non-oncological. Conversely, 51 items are being removed from the list, typically due to a lack of manufacturer funding requests or the expiration of the reimbursement period. Physicians and pharmacists suggest that alternatives are generally available for discontinued products.
