Emergency crews in Świnoujście evacuated 70 residents from a four-story apartment building on Grunwaldzka Street during the early hours of Wednesday morning after a major fire broke out in the attic.
Emergency Response and Evacuation
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at a building located at the intersection of Grunwaldzka and Rybaki streets. A total of 39 firefighters, comprising 15 units from the Świnoujście and Kamień districts, were deployed to manage the blaze and ensure the safe exit of the occupants.
Junior Brigadier Katarzyna Hołota of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service confirmed that two individuals were rescued using a mechanical ladder. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the 70 evacuated residents.
Scale of the Incident
The firefighting operation spanned approximately 900 square meters of the building’s structure. While authorities have successfully brought the situation under control, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
