Operation “Kobra” Strikes Again: Six Vehicle Thefts Resolved

Elite police units from the “Kobra” group, supported by the Central Bureau of Investigation and officers from Wesoła, have arrested two suspects responsible for the theft of six high-value vehicles.

The Arrest and Evidence

Officers apprehended a 29-year-old and a 34-year-old shortly after they parked a stolen Alfa Romeo in the Piaseczno county. The suspects were already wanted for prior offenses and faced immediate prison sentences of two and a half and three years, respectively.

During the operation, police seized specialized criminal tools, including a GPS jammer, key programming devices, false license plates, and a silicone face mask. Police also recovered four stolen vehicles—a Dodge RAM, an Alfa Romeo Giulia, and two Jeep Grand Cherokees—with a total value exceeding half a million zlotys.

Criminal Charges and Judicial Action

The 29-year-old suspect faces eight charges, including vehicle theft, driving despite a judicial ban, and the use of stolen license plates. The 34-year-old faces six charges, including five counts of theft and receiving stolen goods.

Following legal proceedings supervised by the Warsaw-Ursynów District Prosecutor’s Office, both suspects were placed under police supervision and subsequently transferred to a detention center to serve their outstanding prison terms. The case remains under active investigation.
