The Resolution Against Independent Organizations
On Wednesday, the PiS leadership adopted a resolution prohibiting party members from participating in associations, foundations, or organizations of a political nature. Party spokesperson Rafa艂 Bochenek stated that the measure aims to maintain the party’s ideological, organizational, and political unity.
Members have been ordered to cease all activities within such groups and formally resign within seven days. Those who fail to comply face expulsion from the party via the Political Committee. Bochenek confirmed the decision was unanimous, noting that Mateusz Morawiecki was absent from the meeting.
Targets and Compliance
The directive specifically names the “Rozw贸j Plus” association, founded by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and “Po pierwsze Polska,” launched by Jacek Sasin. Sasin announced he would comply by ending his association’s activities, focusing instead on the goal of removing the current government from power.
Conversely, Morawiecki defended “Rozw贸j Plus” on the X platform, describing it as a platform for discussing Poland’s future, security, and economy. Despite the party’s directive, members associated with the group indicated they intend to continue with their scheduled event on July 31.
Background on Internal Tensions
Jacek Sasin founded “Po pierwsze Polska” in June to support the party’s unity and the potential candidacy of Przemys艂aw Czarnek for prime minister. The association includes high-ranking members such as El偶bieta Witek, Tobiasz Boche艅ski, and Patryk Jaki.
Morawiecki鈥檚 “Rozw贸j Plus,” established in April, has caused ongoing friction within the party, with some leadership figures viewing it as an attempt to create a rival power base independent of the main party structure.
