PiS to Unveil Retribution Plan at Kłodzko Convention

The Law and Justice (PiS) party is set to hold a convention in Kłodzko to announce a strategic plan for holding the current government coalition accountable for alleged past misconduct.

The Symbolic Choice of Kłodzko

According to Newsweek, PiS chose Kłodzko for its symbolic value, as the city was shaken by a high-profile pedophilia scandal involving Przemysław L. and Kamila L. Przemysław L. was arrested in 2023 and subsequently sentenced in March 2026 to 25 years in prison for crimes including rape, causing grievous bodily harm, and the production of pedophilic and zoophilic content committed over 11 years.

His former wife, Kamila L., was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for complicity and failing to protect a child, though she maintains she was a victim. Media reports highlighted that Kamila L. was a local activist for the Civic Platform (PO) party, resigning only after the scandal was exposed by Gazeta Wyborcza in July 2024.

Political Fallout and Accusations

While local PO members claimed they were unaware of the prosecution’s activities, Telewizja Republika launched a campaign in March labeling the incident a scandal within Tusk’s party and publishing identifying details of the victims. PiS politicians have also falsely accused Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Monika Wielichowska of having close ties to Kamila L.

The Czarnek Plan for Government Accountability

During the convention, PiS plans to detail the fourth point of the so-called “Czarnek plan,” which outlines the party’s roadmap for settling accounts with the current government coalition. This agenda is part of a 21-point program that the party aims to implement within the first 100 days of taking power should they win the 2027 parliamentary elections.

The first three points, introduced in June, include exiting the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), tax exemptions for retirees earning up to 2,500 PLN net, and raising the second tax threshold to 180,000 PLN for individuals or 360,000 PLN for married couples.

Documentation of Alleged Scandals

PiS officials state they are currently documenting various controversies from the ruling camp, including issues surrounding the Southern Hospital and historical expenditures by a municipal company associated with Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska. Potential prime ministerial candidate Przemysław Czarnek and party leader Jarosław Kaczyński are expected to address the event, with reports suggesting Czarnek will announce firm accountability measures for members of the government, security services, and the judiciary.
