Storm and Rainfall Warnings
Second-degree storm alerts cover the Lubusz, Lower Silesian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland, and Opole voivodeships, as well as parts of Silesia, Lesser Poland, and Subcarpathia. These areas expect rainfall up to 45 mm and wind gusts reaching 90-100 km/h, with possible hail.
First-degree alerts are in place for parts of the Silesian, Łódź, Masovian, and Warmian-Masurian regions, with rainfall between 20-35 mm and gusts up to 80 km/h. Additionally, parts of West Pomerania and Pomerania face heavy rain alerts with localized precipitation up to 50 mm.
Heatwave Alerts
Third-degree heat alerts are active in the Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships until Wednesday evening, with daytime temperatures ranging from 33°C to 37°C. Nighttime lows are expected to remain between 18°C and 21°C.
Second-degree heat warnings apply to the Lesser Poland, Silesian, Świętokrzyskie, Łódź, Opole, and parts of the Masovian, Lower Silesian, Greater Poland, and Podlaskie regions. Temperatures will reach 30-33°C, while first-degree alerts are in effect for parts of the Masovian and Podlaskie regions.
Government Security Center Alerts
The Government Security Center (RCB) issued broad alerts regarding dangerous weather conditions, advising residents to avoid open spaces and prepare for potential power outages. These warnings apply to a majority of Polish voivodeships due to the high risk of storms and strong winds.
Hydrological Situation
A second-degree hydrological alert remains active for the Brynica river basin in the Silesian voivodeship. Authorities forecast that water levels will continue to rise above the warning threshold, with the potential for short-term exceedance of alarm states.
Weather Forecast for Upcoming Days
Poland remains under the influence of a shallow low-pressure trough and a wavy atmospheric front moving eastward. While the west and northwest will experience cooler polar maritime air, the rest of the country remains under a hot, tropical air mass.
Forecasts indicate a transition on Thursday, with moderate cloud cover and occasional showers. Temperatures will drop significantly, ranging from 21°C to 26°C in most of the country, and dropping as low as 16-18°C in the Carpathian foothills.
Weather Outlook for Warsaw
Warsaw residents should expect severe storms, potential hail, and heavy rainfall of up to 50 mm on Wednesday, with temperatures peaking at 34°C. Conditions will begin to stabilize on Thursday, with cloudy skies clearing in the afternoon and a high of 26°C.
