Poland Moves to Formalize Bid for Permanent US Military Base

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the Polish government is drafting an official resolution to prepare the country’s infrastructure and finances for the permanent deployment of additional American military forces.

Government Prepares for US Force Expansion

Donald Tusk emphasized that Poland must create necessary conditions to realistically accommodate a larger presence of American soldiers. Before the Council of Ministers meeting, the Prime Minister stated that the project covers organizational, financial, and infrastructural requirements to implement declarations regarding additional US troops.

Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz presented a resolution proposal focused on launching the necessary actions to establish a permanent US military base. Tusk noted that the government cannot simply wait for US presidential declarations; it must actively prepare the physical infrastructure required for permanent stationing.

Operational and Financial Requirements

The upcoming cabinet meeting will address the specific logistics, including housing facilities, financial commitments, and operational infrastructure. Tusk described the endeavor as a major organizational undertaking that requires immediate preparation.

The Council of Ministers’ Committee for National Security also convened on Tuesday morning. The body discussed the specific logistical and financial guarantees essential to support the planned increase in American military presence across the country.
