Poland Targets 15,000 U.S. Troops: Presidential Minister Outlines Strategy

Presidential Minister Marcin Przydacz has disclosed that Poland is actively negotiating with the Trump administration to increase the number of U.S. troops stationed in the country to between 11,000 and 15,000.

Proposed troop numbers and negotiations

Marcin Przydacz revealed the details of ongoing talks with Donald Trump’s administration regarding the optimal number of U.S. troops in Poland. While the U.S. president has already declared an addition of 5,000 soldiers, Przydacz emphasized that Poland is pushing for a larger footprint.

According to the minister, the country is aiming for a minimum of 11,000 troops, with an ideal target of 15,000. This would represent a significant increase over the current levels of 10,000 personnel.

Shift toward permanent presence

Przydacz noted that the Pentagon is currently restructuring its military presence across Europe. While specific final decisions have not yet been reached, Poland continues to advocate for these numbers to become a permanent fixture rather than a rotational arrangement.

The minister concluded that the transition from rotational to permanent status remains a priority, though it requires new agreements between the Pentagon and the Polish Ministry of National Defense. President Karol Nawrocki remains optimistic about upcoming decisions from the White House.
