Poland’s State Debt Surges by 46.8 Billion Zloty in One Month

Poland’s national debt climbed to 2.135 trillion zloty by the end of May 2026, marking a monthly increase of 46.8 billion zloty, or 2.2 percent, according to the Ministry of Finance.

According to preliminary data published on Monday by the Ministry of Finance, the State Treasury debt reached approximately 2 trillion 135.6 billion zloty at the end of May 2026. This represents a growth of 46.8 billion zloty compared to the previous month.

Breakdown of Liabilities

The Ministry of Finance reported that domestic debt amounted to approximately 1 trillion 715.3 billion zloty. Meanwhile, foreign debt reached 420.3 billion zloty, accounting for 19.7 percent of the total State Treasury debt.
