Police Apprehend 77-Year-Old Suspect Over Death Threats Against Karol Nawrocki

Warsaw police have arrested a 77-year-old man who allegedly made criminal threats against President Karol Nawrocki during a telephone call to the Presidential Office on July 2.

On Thursday, July 2, shortly before 10:00 PM, officers from the Praga-Północ Criminal Department apprehended a 77-year-old man at his residence in Marki, near Warsaw. The arrest followed an investigation into a threatening phone call made to the Presidential Office earlier that day at approximately 2:15 PM.

Authorities quickly identified the source of the call, leading them to the suspect. The man was transported to the Jagiellonian Street police station and is scheduled to be interviewed by the Warsaw-Praga North District Prosecutor’s Office this Friday.

Pattern of Threats Against the President

This incident follows a series of similar threats directed at President Nawrocki. On June 26, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Czerwieńsk after claiming in an online video chat to possess a weapon intended for “killing dictators,” specifically naming the President.

In a separate case last November, Warsaw police arrested a 19-year-old who posted a threatening comment on the X platform. The suspect had replied to a photo of President Nawrocki at a football match with the caption “see you soon, Karol” alongside an image of a person holding a firearm-like object.
