Polish Mail Carrier Saves Elderly Woman from Apartment Fire

On June 8, a postal worker in Szczecin, Kamila Hein, rescued an elderly woman trapped by a fire in her fourth-floor apartment by pulling her and her dog to safety.

A Narrow Escape from the Flames

The fire broke out in the kitchen of an apartment building served by the Szczecin 2 post office. As flames and smoke spread, the elderly resident took shelter in her bathroom, unable to escape the blaze.

Swift Intervention by Postal Staff

While delivering mail, Kamila Hein noticed smoke billowing from a window and immediately entered the building to alert other tenants. With the help of a resident, she reached the fourth floor, entered the apartment, and guided the woman and her dog out of the burning unit.

Emergency Response and Recovery

Multiple fire brigades were dispatched to extinguish the blaze and vent the smoke from the structure. The rescued woman received immediate medical attention before being transported to a hospital for further care.
