Poznan Clinic “VIP Queue” Whistleblower Files Prosecutor Complaint After Dismissal

A dismissed registration clerk at a Poznan medical center filed a prosecutor complaint on Tuesday regarding preferential treatment and contract irregularities, while city authorities dismissed the claims as provocation.

Małgorzata Rakowska, who worked in registration at the Poznan Center for Specialized Medical Services, stated that a “VIP queue” existed at the clinic. Important city figures contacted the facility through a patient service representative rather than regular registration, securing medical visits in a much shorter time than other residents, according to Rakowska as cited by Wyborcza.

Prosecutor Complaint Filed in Poznan

On Tuesday, August 11, Małgorzata Rakowska organized a press conference in front of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznan, submitting a notification regarding a suspected crime and two offenses. These involve employing staff on civil law contracts instead of employment contracts and bypassing the appointment queue at the facility. Earlier, the management of the Poznan clinic filed a notification against Rakowska.

Allegations Involving Poznan Deputy Mayor

Rakowska wrote in her notification that the crime was committed by an unspecified person serving as the Deputy Mayor of Poznan. According to her, the deputy mayor used his position to gain a personal advantage regarding an out-of-queue visit for a family member.

Positions of Poznan Authorities and Whistleblower

Małgorzata Rakowska claims she was fired for speaking out about irregularities at the clinic. The city contends that the “VIP” annotations next to certain patients’ names were a provocation by Rakowska, who allegedly wrote them herself to compromise Poznan authorities, whereas Rakowska maintains she only documented high-ranking individuals bypassing the clinic queues.

Poznan Mayor Jacek Jaśkowiak stated that a specific group stands behind the clinic affair, involving the partner of a man who attacked him during a city council session, and labeled Rakowska’s behavior as primitive and foolish. Rakowska asserted in her interview with Wyborcza that her personal relationship with anyone has no bearing on the matter.
