President Nawrocki Confirms Revocation of Zelensky’s Order of the White Eagle

The Chancellery of the President of Poland has announced that President Karol Nawrocki’s decision to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle is final.

The Polish President’s Chancellery confirmed on Friday that the decision regarding the country’s highest honor is conclusive. The matter was previously reviewed by the Chapter of the Order of the White Eagle, which met on June 8 to submit its formal opinion to the President.

While the Chancellery initially withheld the specific details of the Chapter’s recommendation, officials stated at the time that President Nawrocki would announce his final verdict at an appropriate moment.

President Karol Nawrocki emphasized that historical truth cannot be used as a bargaining chip. He stated that the sacrifices of ancestors must not be betrayed by silence, noting that historical wounds require truth, memory, and respect.

Nawrocki argued that a nation losing its memory loses part of its soul, and a state that fails to defend its history ceases to be a guardian of national respect. He reaffirmed that Poles will continue to honor and demand accountability for their history.
