President Nawrocki in Ankara: Zelensky Talks and NATO Unity

Following a one-hour meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara, Polish President Karol Nawrocki confirmed that while NATO remains united against Russia, contentious historical issues regarding the UPA remain non-negotiable.

President Nawrocki revealed that his discussion with Volodymyr Zelensky lasted approximately one hour. He noted that the delegation did not arrive with the expectation of resolving all outstanding issues during this single encounter.

The President emphasized that matters concerning the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and UPA symbols remain non-negotiable from his perspective.

NATO’s Strategic Posture

Nawrocki described cooperation within NATO as being at a very high level. He left Ankara with the firm conviction that the Alliance is fully prepared to respond to the current international climate.

He asserted that Poland’s expectations for the summit were met, confirming that the Alliance remains strong, determined, and committed to defending its foundational values.

Russia as the Primary Threat

According to Nawrocki, there is no longer any doubt regarding the collective stance of Alliance members in identifying Russia as the primary threat to NATO.

The President concluded that the summit successfully reaffirmed the transatlantic bond, underscoring that the strength of the Alliance remains rooted in the cooperation between Europe and the United States.
