On June 11, 2026, the Warsaw Regional Court requested information from the National Prosecutor’s Office regarding the current location of suspect Zbigniew Ziobro and his presence within the European Union. The court is currently reviewing a February 10, 2026, motion for a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) linked to an investigation into irregularities at the Justice Fund.

Location and Legal Implications

Although Ziobro was in Hungary when the motion was filed, he left the EU several months later. Regulations dictate that an EAW can only be issued if there is a suspicion the wanted individual is within the EU, with failure to meet this condition potentially leading to the motion’s dismissal.

The prosecutor informed the court that as of May 9, 2026, Ziobro has been residing in the United States.
