Immunity challenges for MPs
Prosecutor General’s spokesperson Anna Adamiak confirmed that formal requests have been filed to hold three members of Parliament accountable for various alleged offenses. These requests stem from evidence gathered in separate proceedings conducted by different prosecution units.
Allegations against Katarzyna Ueberhan
Katarzyna Ueberhan (The Left) is suspected of concealing or falsifying data in six asset declarations between 2019 and 2023, as well as misappropriating a leased vehicle. The investigation was initiated by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) and led by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań.
Charges against Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski
Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski (PSL) faces allegations regarding the misappropriation of entrusted funds and residential units. He is also accused of attempting to thwart court rulings by disposing of and gifting assets. The case, initiated by the Ciechanowiecki Collection Foundation, was handled by the National Prosecutor’s Office.
Tadeusz Chrzan and the Maleniska shooting range
Tadeusz Chrzan (PiS) faces allegations of abuse of power and negligence during his 2018 tenure as the Starosta of Jarosław. Investigations concern the construction of an outdoor shooting range in Maleniska, which allegedly led to significant financial losses for both the state and the local district due to improper oversight and grant mismanagement.

The Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the requests serve to uphold the principle of equality before the law as defined in the Constitution. Officials noted that the alleged actions are unrelated to the performance of the deputies’ parliamentary mandates.
