Survey Results Reveal Public Sentiment
In a recent reader survey, 8,982 participants provided their views on Dawid Kacprzyk’s decision to step down from his role as a councilor. A majority of 53.27 percent (4,785 votes) stated the resignation was a positive step that resolves the matter. Another 43.05 percent (3,867 votes) considered the move correct but insufficient to fully close the case.
Only a small fraction of respondents disagreed with the resignation, with 2.57 percent suggesting he should have stayed, while 1.10 percent expressed no opinion. The data was collected on June 22, 2026.
Escalating Legal and Professional Investigations
Kacprzyk’s resignation follows a string of departures, including his exit from the Civic Coalition and his dismissal from the Warsaw Southern Hospital. The physician has also corrected 33 invoices covering the period from January 2025 to June 2026 and returned 500,000 PLN to the hospital’s account.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw is currently examining the hospital’s emergency department operations and the authenticity of the doctor’s work documentation. Concurrently, the Supreme Medical Chamber is investigating reports that Kacprzyk’s official duty hours allegedly overlapped with public appearances.
Political Fallout Reaches the Mayor’s Office
New reports suggest that Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski was alerted to concerns regarding Kacprzyk as early as mid-2025 by the former head of the surgery department. Trzaskowski has denied formal knowledge of the irregularities, noting that private messages do not constitute official notification.
The Mayor has announced a restructuring of the hospital, including the appointment of a new supervisory board following the dismissal of the current management. Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek stated that the potential awareness of city authorities regarding the hospital situation may be included in the ongoing prosecutorial investigation.
