Reckless Driver Hits Car While Serving License Suspension

A 35-year-old man from Płońsk County caused a collision on DK-50 in Mieszki Wielkie last Thursday while already serving a three-month license suspension for speeding in a built-up area.

Last Thursday, June 18, the Ciechanów police command received a report regarding a traffic incident in Mieszki Wielkie. Officers determined that a 35-year-old driver of a Peugeot failed to maintain a safe distance and struck the rear of a Ford.

The Ford was operated by a 44-year-old woman from Płońsk County, who was attempting a left turn with two passengers, aged 12 and 16, inside the vehicle. None of the participants sustained serious injuries.

Illegal Driving and Penalties

Police database checks revealed that the Peugeot driver had his license suspended in April for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area. Documentation has been prepared for the court regarding his unauthorized operation of a vehicle.

For causing the collision, the man was fined 5,000 PLN and issued 10 penalty points. His license suspension will be extended for another three months.
