The Katowice municipal guard received an unusual report on Friday, June 26, at 7:45 a.m. A woman walking her dog spotted a reptile-like creature on a pier near Piast贸w Street.
According to the witness, the animal was approximately half a meter long and appeared to be moving. The woman retreated to a safe distance and sent a photograph of the object to the guards.
Police Investigation
The duty officer treated the report seriously and dispatched a patrol to the location. Officers secured the pond area and cautiously approached the pier.
A Harmless Discovery
It quickly became clear that the supposed reptile posed no threat. The “crocodile” was actually a green rubber toy, most likely lost by a child.
The movements that concerned the resident were likely caused by morning wind gusts. The municipal guard emphasized that despite the humorous outcome, the caller acted correctly by maintaining a safe distance and notifying authorities when suspecting a dangerous animal.
