Sasin on PiS Discord: Cacophonous Messaging Tolerated Nowhere

Former Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin warns that internal divisions and conflicting agendas within PiS destroy party credibility as an ultimatum on dual memberships approaches.

Factions and Declarations Within PiS

– De facto in PiS, another grouping with a different agenda is functioning – stated former Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin in a morning interview with RMF24. The politician reported that so far about 150 PiS MPs have submitted the declarations required by the PiS leadership regarding non-belonging to other political associations.

About 40 are missing. These are people who declared themselves as members of the “Rozwój plus” association. We still have time to make this decision. We do not want to lead to a situation where someone leaves PiS, but everyone chooses for themselves – Sasin said.

Choice Between Party and Association

The former deputy minister stated that no one from PiS is being pushed out. – Today we are giving a choice. You cannot be in two parties at the same time. This is tolerated nowhere. We have cacophonous messaging externally, and this robs us of credibility – the politician commented.

Sasin stated that voters are asking what the real program of PiS is. – De facto we have two candidates for prime minister. You do not win elections that way – he said.

Ultimatum and Leadership Conflict

On Thursday at 12 PM, PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński will meet with Mateusz Morawiecki at the PiS headquarters. The former prime minister formed the “Rozwój plus” association, which was joined by about 40 parliamentarians from PiS. This caused a conflict in the party, which issued an ultimatum: either the party or the association. The deadline for submitting declarations expires on Thursday at midnight.

Jacek Sasin stated that Morawiecki’s association was created in response to the nomination of Przemysław Czarnek as the PiS prime ministerial candidate. – I treat this situation as a war of nerves. As such an attempt by Mateusz Morawiecki and his supporters to implement an ambitious agenda. There is time to come to one’s senses – he said.

Loyalty and Club Membership Consequences

– Being in the club obligates one to loyalty to the leadership (…). Not submitting the statement and lingering in the association means resigning from PiS membership, not throwing out, and this is tantamount to a declaration of resignation from the club – he said.
