Sejm Showdown Over South Hospital: Zandberg Attacks Government “Gravy Train”

During a heated parliamentary session, Adrian Zandberg accused the ruling coalition of failing to address corruption and administrative mismanagement at Warsaw’s South Hospital, demanding accountability from Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Zandberg Demands Ministerial Accountability

Adrian Zandberg opened his address by questioning members of the government on how long they intend to avoid responsibility regarding the South Hospital scandal. He asserted that theft and the milking of public funds had taken place.

Zandberg criticized the lack of political consequences, questioning if this was the standard promised to voters in 2023. He described the situation as a slap in the face to citizens who voted for change, claiming that party operatives from PSL, the New Left, and Civic Platform are plundering public money.

Tusk Urged to Take Responsibility

Zandberg lambasted supervisory board members who claim ignorance while collecting high salaries, despite failing to manage or oversee operations. He directly challenged Prime Minister Donald Tusk to stop dodging his responsibilities instead of merely expressing surprise at the presence of political operatives.

Czarnek Claims Negligence and Scandal

Przemysław Czarnek joined the criticism, describing the situation as a total compromise and a disaster. He alleged that individuals without proper qualifications are earning massive salaries simply because they are part of the ruling coalition.

Czarnek pointed to reports of deaths caused by negligence and chaos at the facility. He concluded his statement by warning that “Law and Justice” will hold the current administration accountable for these developments.

Controversy Under Scrutiny

Reports indicate that the South Hospital’s emergency department coordinator, a former Civic Platform councilor, earned 1.6 million PLN last year from medical institutions. Allegations have surfaced regarding preferential treatment for politicians and claims of medical errors resulting in patient deaths.

The current department head, Dr. Piotr Szenk, disputed these claims, stating he observed no such practices and that the emergency department functioned correctly. He clarified that Dr. Adam Macech serves as the department manager, while the former coordinator focused on administrative scheduling.
