The Incident in Opacz-Kolonia
A dangerous traffic accident occurred at approximately 3:49 PM on the Salomea-Wolica route, near the Nowa Street viaduct in Opacz-Kolonia, Pruszk贸w County. A 72-year-old woman was struck by a delivery vehicle.
Sequence of Events
Preliminary findings indicate that the woman had been driving a Mercedes and pulled over into the emergency lane. After exiting her vehicle, she was struck by a passing Iveco delivery van.
Emergency Response and Medical Condition
The victim suffered severe injuries and required resuscitation at the scene. Once her vital functions were restored, she was transported in critical condition by an Air Ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Warsaw.
Investigation and Traffic Impact
The driver of the Iveco was tested for alcohol and was found to be sober. Law enforcement is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the collision. The incident caused a total blockage of traffic toward the Warsaw city center and created significant congestion in both directions, including toward Nadarzyn.
