Sharp Response from Kyiv After Brutal Assault on Ukrainians in Wrocław: One Suspect is an MMA Fighter

Following the brutal assault on a young Ukrainian couple in Wrocław, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has demanded a thorough investigation, while Polish authorities have arrested two suspects.

Brutal Assault in Wrocław

The echoes of the brutal beating of Ukrainians in Wrocław continue to reverberate, with one detained attacker identified as a football hooligan and MMA fighter, and the second as a gangster with a prison record. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has taken a strong stance on the matter.

The violent attack on the Ukrainian couple took place on Sunday in Wrocław. A video showing the moment a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were beaten was posted online. Officers arrested two of the three attackers visible in the footage.

Identity of the Aggressors

According to findings by “Gazeta Wyborcza,” one of the three suspects in the brutal assault is Adam C., alias “Cycu,” a criminal known in underworld circles with a prison record. The second detainee is a football hooligan and MMA fighter.

The arrest of the attackers was announced via platform X by the Minister of Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński. He wrote that brutal violence will never go unpunished, adding that Wrocław police detained two men suspected of taking part in the brutal assault on Ukrainian citizens, both of whom had prior records.

Kyiv’s Strong Stance

The incident in Wrocław did not escape the attention of the authorities in Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha voiced his reaction via platform X following the brutal attack.

In an extensive post, he emphasized that Kyiv expects a full, objective, and impartial investigation, the establishment of all circumstances and motives of the crime, and the fair punishment of all perpetrators, while also thanking Polish police officers and Wrocław Mayor Jacek Sutryk for their swift and decisive response.

Appeal to Polish Politicians

Sybiha stated that Kyiv will monitor the case and that the victims can count on full consular assistance. He also appealed to Polish politicians, emphasizing that Poland and Ukraine must base their relations on pragmatic cooperation and work toward security.

– Once again, I appeal to certain Polish politicians to stop stoking hostility, which ultimately transforms into concrete acts of violence on the streets. We need dialogue and mutual respect, not the search for reasons for hatred – he wrote.
