Record Enforcement Actions
Data from the Ministry of Finance reveals that the tax office in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship recovered 137,000 PLN in unpaid subscription fees in the first five months of 2026. This figure significantly exceeds recovery amounts in other regions.
Following the West Pomeranian region, major enforcement actions were recorded in the Łódź, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Lower Silesian voivodeships, with top individual amounts ranging from 32,000 to 35,000 PLN. In most other regions, the highest recovered amounts fell between 2,000 and 23,000 PLN.
High Debt and Corporate Liability
Such substantial debts typically arise from commercial entities rather than individual households. Businesses and organizations owning multiple radio and television receivers—including those in company vehicles—are liable for fees on every device, causing obligations to accumulate rapidly over time.
Increased Subscription Rates for 2026
The cost of the RTV subscription has risen compared to 2025. In 2026, the monthly fee is 9.50 PLN for a radio and 30.50 PLN for a television or a combined radio and television receiver. Users must register their devices within 14 days of acquisition and maintain timely payments to avoid administrative enforcement.
The Enforcement Process
Poczta Polska, acting as the creditor, first issues payment reminders. If the debt remains unpaid, an enforcement order is issued, allowing tax authorities to seize funds from bank accounts, salaries, pensions, or tax overpayments.
The tax office does not adjudicate the validity of the fee or the accuracy of the debt calculation; it acts solely as an enforcement body. Entities disputing their payment obligation must address these concerns directly with the creditor before the enforcement stage is initiated.
