A 19-year-old man faces life imprisonment after being charged with the attempted rape and murder of a 29-year-old woman, whose body was discovered in a thicket in Jędrzejów, Poland.

Daniel Prokopowicz, spokesperson for the Kielce District Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed that the 19-year-old suspect was formally charged on Saturday, July 11, with attempted rape and murder. The suspect has not pleaded guilty and refused to provide testimony.
Prosecutors have submitted a motion to the Jędrzejów District Court to remand the suspect in custody. If convicted, the man faces a sentence of up to life imprisonment.
Discovery of the Body
The incident occurred between the night of Thursday and Friday, July 9/10. Police received a report regarding a woman lying in overgrown, derelict land in Jędrzejów. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by responding officers, the 29-year-old victim could not be saved.
Police Investigation
Preliminary findings suggested foul play, prompting a major police mobilization involving 150 officers, drones, and police dogs from both local and regional units. The suspect, a resident of Jędrzejów County, was apprehended at approximately 3 a.m. on Friday and subsequently taken into police custody.
