Allegations of a Political VIP System
The “VIP lounge” controversy centers on claims that district councilor and resident doctor Dawid Kacprzyk established a fast-track admission process for Civic Coalition (KO) activists. Kacprzyk previously faced scrutiny for reporting 1.6 million PLN in income from the public hospital, with allegations that his work hours overlapped with appearances on television and in the Senate.
Political Confrontation over Medical Access
During the “Debata Gozdyry” program on Polsat News, PiS MP Michał Kowalski clashed with KO’s Mariusz Witczak regarding the existence of the lounge. While Witczak dismissed the claims as propaganda, Kowalski maintained that documentation exists proving certain patients were admitted in ten minutes, adding that the formal list is currently held by the prosecutor’s office.
Dual Criminal Investigations Underway
The Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office has launched two investigations into the hospital. The first addresses financial irregularities totaling over 558,000 PLN linked to fraudulent invoicing for physician work hours. The second inquiry focuses on systemic mismanagement, including failure to oversee hospital operations, violations of triage protocols, and failures in contract and invoice verification.
