Tragedy in Mszana Dolna: Police End Manhunt After Death of 19-Year-Old

A 19-year-old woman was fatally attacked by her ex-partner in Mszana Dolna on Monday night, triggering an intensive police manhunt that concluded with the discovery of the suspect’s body in a forest.

The Attack

The incident occurred on Monday, June 15, at approximately 10:20 PM. According to preliminary police findings, a 19-year-old man arrived at the location where his former partner was staying, where an argument likely ensued.

During the altercation, the man allegedly attacked the 19-year-old woman, causing her fatal injuries, before fleeing the scene. The victim was discovered by her mother, who alerted emergency services and attempted to administer first aid.

Emergency responders arrived shortly thereafter, but despite resuscitation efforts, the 19-year-old could not be saved. Police emphasize that these are preliminary findings and investigations into the exact circumstances of her death are ongoing.

The Manhunt

Police released the details and image of the suspect, identified as the woman’s ex-partner, to locate him. The search operation involved criminal investigation units, K-9 units, search groups, GOPR rescuers, and the Myślenice Volunteer Fire Department Search and Rescue Group.

Law enforcement conducted vehicle inspections, established roadblocks, and utilized drones to search the surrounding area.

Discovery in the Forest

After several hours of searching, a police helicopter crew spotted a man’s body in one of the surveyed areas. Authorities are conducting on-site investigations to formally confirm his identity, though all evidence indicates it is the 19-year-old suspect. Unofficial reports suggest the man took his own life.
