Trump Signs Preliminary Accord with Iran to End Hostilities

Following a late-night signing at the Palace of Versailles, the United States and Iran have finalized a 14-point memorandum, signaling a significant shift in diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Formalization of the Memorandum

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that the agreement has been finalized after both parties signed the document. According to reports, the Iranian president signed the agreement electronically, while President Trump signed the physical document during a dinner at Versailles.

The memorandum was prepared in both English and Persian. A CNN source indicated that the U.S. side provided the Iranians with photographic evidence of the signed document, which Trump confirmed to reporters as he departed the palace alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte.

Changes to Diplomatic Protocol

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the formal signing ceremony previously scheduled for Friday, June 19, in Switzerland will no longer take place. Despite the cancellation of the ceremony, both nations intend to send their respective negotiation teams to Switzerland for continued discussions.

The White House has not yet provided an official comment regarding the status of the previously planned Swiss event.
